Why cant i get staff to stay?

I run a network marketing business, in which people get free karate training and manager training & about £19,000 per year.

Yet the small fact that they have to knock doors to find people to join a karat club scares them away!

How can i help my staff see the potential in them selfs to earn a great living whilst having a great time?!
The money is in uk pounds
and the club has got about 65000 training every week through this process. the system works but it just seem that people cant be bottered to work for a living. they eould prefer to sit in a crappy office and get a crappy wage and have no future, rather than take a risk that there could be another way of doing things.

I think it is the 'knocking on doors' element that bothers some people. Most people HATE it when people knock on their door, selling them something. Even if it is free, people will automatically presume there is a catch.

Maybe you should ask your staff how they feel about this, and also do a bit of market research, looking into whether or not this is a successful way of doing things.

    So basically they are canvassers? Not many people like canvassers knocking on their door or stopping them in the street, in turn they dont want to become one. I hate canvassers and think it to be one of the worst jobs.

    I assume you are paying in Euro? Well the conversion looks like this:
    19,000 Euro = 23,308.4 US Dollar
    19,000 US Dollar (USD) = 15,488.0 Euro (EUR)

    For $23,000 US dollars I would not do it either, I'd starve after taxes and expenses.

    You need to do more incentives such as prizes, trips, bonuses, and maybe up the basic pay. It may not be possilbe to pay vary much up front however, if the salesman sells you get a profit.

    By the way, a salesman is not staff and staff are not salesmen. If you are treating them as such you are abusing the staff and offending the salesmen or vice versa either way they would leave.

    If Pounds the that's a little better but still look into it please.

    Check your recruiter or recruiting sources, seems they are attracting the wrong people. You need people who are hungry, not fat.

    The answer is motivation. Go out with your staff and train them or have others who excel at the job go out with them until they are comfortable and know what they are doing. You need to hire self-confident individuals with a positive attitude. Motivate them. Motivation is key to any business.
